The 人文学科 Major is for students who wish to further their liberal arts education and pursue a broad-based study 在人文学科.
The 人文学科 program explores human intellectual, 文化, 社会, and moral expressions throughout 历史. You will be offered an interdisciplinary program, spanning the areas of the arts, 文学, 历史, 哲学, 宗教研究, and foreign language and culture. The 人文学科 Major is for students who wish to further their liberal arts education and pursue a broad-based study 在人文学科. The 人文学科 program grows out of some of the overarching traditional goals of a liberal education. The heart of the program is a 人文学科 Core, which is required of all 人文学科 students and draws on courses from several different disciplines. The 人文学科 Core is designed to strengthen (1) your knowledge of Western 文化 历史, (2) your awareness of ethical judgments and 社会 values, (3) your appreciation of 文化 differences, and (4) your taste in aesthetic experiences.

Every student in this major* must meet the requirements of the 人文学科 Core, which extends beyond the GEC (General Education Curriculum). These required 人文学科 Core courses include 24 credits:
- 9 semester hours in the 人文学科 Sequence courses (HU252, 362, 472)
- 3 semester hours in Cultural 历史 (not from the 人文学科 专业化)
- 3 semester hours in Foreign cultures or language
- 3 semester hours in Literature
- 3 semester hours in Fine 艺术s
- 3 semester hours in Ethics or Social Values (from the RS or PH courses)
